The Optimist Club of Marco Island (OCMI) was founded in 2008 with the objective of providing high-quality sports programs to the families and youth of Marco Island, while also fostering community engagement through volunteerism and collaboration with other community initiatives, foundations, and organizations.
OCMI currently runs a Flag Football program during the Fall and Spring, Basketball during the Winter and Recreational Soccer during the Winter/Spring season.
It is the Optimist Club of Marco Island’s goal to conduct positive service projects to benefit area youth and community through promotion of organized sport activities. It is our mission to deliver quality instruction and training within a safe, enjoyable, and family-oriented setting, while simultaneously instilling lifetime values applicable both on and off the field, while creating lasting memories.

Open to children pre-K (4yo) through 6th grade, our program focuses on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a safe, encouraging environment. It’s a great way for young players to stay active and build lasting friendships.
Dribble, pass, and shoot your way into the action with our Youth Basketball program! Designed for children through 6th grade, this league encourages skill-building, sportsmanship, and fun in a supportive environment where every player is part of the team.
